Sustainability through Collaboration

Nyakongo2030 will be implemented through Nyakongo Sustainable Village Partnership committees led by different development actors. A specific stakeholder will chair the Working Group responsible for implementation of activities in a given sector. The World Student Community for Sustainable Development – Kenya (WSCSD-Kenya) will be the secretariat coordinating the Initiative.

  • Monitor of, and contributor to the process through research, technology transfer and other expertise

  • Provide resources to encourage, establish and develop the work of science shops in their regions
  • Accept that community groups have access to knowledge and information resources of their local universities
  • Accept the issues of community concern be reflected in academic research and teaching agenda
Government
  • Formal recognition of and support of Nyakongo2030 as a youth-led flagship Vision 2030 project
  • Be part of the Nyakongo Sustainable Village Partnership
  • Finance and facilitate a Rural participatory planning
  • Provide direction to universities and research institutes to support science shop
  • Provide funding for infrastructural services implemented through community service
Entrepreneurs
  • Establish Sustainable Enterprises which create economic and societal value through environmentally and socially beneficial market or institutional innovations
  • Provide financial support to aid the future projects through Strategic Corporate Philanthropy
